Tokimonsta is back with new flavor in your ear

On the way to work the other week, digging through my purse to find my phone, my finger accidentally (serendipitously?) typed “t” on my Spotify search, and the first thing that popped up was the new single by Tokimonsta featuring Anderson. Paak and Rae Khalil (whose singles are taking over my playlist lately), “On Sum”.

I’ve been walking in-step with the mellifluously cool beat and lyrics everyday since. Jennifer Lee’s production skills pull the lyrics along like a kite on a string, while the fun of the chorus between Rae Khalil and Anderson makes you feel you’re moon-bouncing above the floor just slightly. It’s fly as hell, and has been in heavy rotation. And the video’s playful nod to “Everything Everywhere All At Once’ is its own cinematic breadcrumb.
